hi everyone I am just trying to sort out travel insurance, last year we went to Spain and my daughter's (Katie) g-tube fell out on the first day!! Was only at the local hospital half an hour but had to pay a bill of 300 euros, when i returned home and tried to claim back I was told I could not because I had not declared it! I did tell them on the phone along with her other conditions but they just put Global Developmental Delay on the form. Is there another medical term for gastrostomy do any of you know? I have just been online to fill in medical screening and gastrostomy does not come up, just want to make sure everything is covered next time!! big thank you x Annlouise

I don't want to insult you but complete the form on line, contact them, describe explicitly what you need them to cover you for and ask for copies of everything prior to leaving. Sounds a bit obvious but at least you will have a copy of the documents etc so they have no comeback if you need to claim
Happy holiday Stuart x

hi Stuart yeah I did all this last time, dont know if you have completed online Medical Screening before but you have to decribe exactly what condition you want to cover (there are drop down boxes and spells it out as you type, you dont just type in the word) Gastrostomy is not on their list(i have tried lots of insurance companies!) and when I call them they have no idea what a gastrostomy is!! (I know we all know what it is!!) Lissencephaly is on the list as is epilepsy but not gastrostomy, tried to google another name for it but no luck have appt. with consultant next week I will ask him hopefully he will know
