Hi my name is Kelly, we are from Ontario Canada. My son was born June 16, 2010 we were just told yesterday 08/11/11, that he has Lissencephaly type 1. But they say that he is not the norm. He is a really happy little guy, smiles makes all kinds of sounds when he looks at people. He has a long attention span, loves to eat, has had no seizures that we know of as of yet. He is behind in motor skills just now sitting unsupported, taking weight on his legs slowly. I am really scared that his life will be short or from what I have studied that if he lives a long time, it will be a very hard life for him. I have no idea when he will start having other problems. I find that all I can do is cry when ever I look at my perfect looking little man. If anyone has any advice for me please give it, also if anyone knows of anyway to help him along..PLEASE tell me. We haven't even told our family yet. We don't know how to tell them..
