Hi My name is Kameron, My partner and I are caring for our 7 year old nephew who has a diagnosis of Lissencephaly/pachygyria, We are desperate for information on this as nothing seems to fit. He has developmental delays, but he is pretty much functional. He has epilepsy but has been fit free for over 2 years and is not medicated. Our problems with him are mainly behavioural issues and progressing with his learning he is pre-prep level but in grade 2 at school. He has been in our care since october 2011 and in that time with support he has come forth in leaps and bounds. He is now recognising up to 10 letters in the alphabet and can count to 30 with a few hic cups but is doing ok. He has no problems with eating and although his gross and fine motor skills are not great he can walk, run, jump play no worries. We live in north qld australia and was wondering if there is anyone out there that has a similar situation as us in the respect that the medical condition of liss does not seem to match his diagnosis? We question whether this is the right diagnosis for him. Please help Kameron
