Hello, I am very new to this. My wife and I were sent to the hospital to have a level 2 ultra sound done so the doctors could take a look at the babies heart. The heart is fine, but what they discovered is that the head was small. They diagnosed Microcephally. So, we were told to have another MRI done. After 2 MRI's the doctor wouldn't "officially" diagnose lissencephaly, but that he was "leaning" towards it. My wife is now 24 weeks pregnant. Now we have to go back in a few weeks for a 3rd MRI. I guess I am just looking to see if anyone would be willing to share their experiences with this. My wife and I are concerned, scared, frustrated among a million other emotions. Thanks.

I can fully understand the emotional rollercoaster you and your wife must be experiencing at the moment. I am happy to share any thoughts or experiences if you feel this would be useful? My daughter wasn't diagnosed with Lissencephaly until she was 5 1/2 months old and it is quite a severe form of it too. Where are you based? My email is sturobbie76@gmail.com Best wishes Stuart

Hello, I don't come on here a lot so only just seen your message. We have a two year old boy with Lissencephaly and a couple of other things. They picked it up on our scans like they have with you. I'm happy to discuss anything with you if it would still be helpful. I remember going through all those emotions so well. My email is something_original85@hotmail.com. Helen
