Hello everyone, Does anyone have any ideas on car seats suitable for a floppy 3 year old. She is currently using a standard Mamas & Papas 9mnths - 11yrs seat, but is not very happy in it. It also has those little arms that they all seem to have, so it makes it difficult to lift Katie into the car. We are wondering whether we should get an adapted vehicle, so that she can travel in her Pixi Buggy. I am not too happy about that idea though. Has anyone done this? The only special seat I have heard of is by Britax.

I have recently got a kangoo kar converted with a ramp so Alyosha can be wheeled on in his buggie. Its brillant. He's so comfortable in his own chair and it saves on all the lifting. I had it done with Motability Irl. .I'm sure there's a UK branch. They had car seats for special needs children on display in their showroom if your not interested in a conversion. Hope you get something to suit. Caitriona.

I've got a britax junior travellor car seat which I've had since my son was a baby. He is now 3 1/2 and I think it will last until I can't lift him any more. It was a bit more expensive than a standard seat but it is more supportive. It desn't look to "special needs". Britax also do a larger version for children over 4 but it looks a bit like an armchair! A company called otto bock produce the l"ars car seat" which swivels making it easier to lift a child into. However they are expensive and we think that we will have to get a converted car when our Britax is too small. I hope this helps. May be we should have a second hand equipment section within the forum.

My daughter is also floppy . I had a britax traveller but i found it didnt give her any of the support that she needed i found that a regular britax car seat for the older child work the best for my daughter anyway. U can purchase the britax traveller off her britax web site.

Hi, My Name is Dawn. My Mischa is now almost 9 yrs old. My little girl has ILS, she was and is still very floppy. We used a Columbia car seat for her up until recently. If anyone is interested. I can send pictures of her in it, and I am willing to give it to anyone who wants it. Please email me at dwfaas@msn.com.
